Joyful Heart Yoga -- Welcome!

I have stilled my restless mind, and my heart is radiant.

Namaste!

My name is Sandy Pradas (formerly Sandy Chute). As a serious yoga student, I am fascinated with the ability of yoga to make deep and lasting changes in people's lives, and I enjoy sharing the opportunity with others.

My classes focus on Kripalu yoga — a meditation in motion — and include elements of yoga therapy as well. We practice classic yoga postures combined with deep breathing exercises that will both stretch and strengthen the body as well as calm and quiet the mind. We move slowly in and out of the postures for safe alignment and hold them long enough to feel the benefits and build up strength. The classes start with a gentle warm-up, move to deeper stretches, and end with a blissful, peaceful relaxation.

I have been teaching since 2001 and received my certification from Kripalu Center in Lenox, Mass., in 2002. In addition to my studies at Kripalu with fabulous teachers like Naresh Ron King, Yoganand Michael Carroll, Tarika, and Vidya Carolyn Dell'uomo, I've had the privilege of learning from some of the country's most noted instructors, including Rodney Yee, Gary Kraftsow, Angela Farmer, Stephen Cope, and others. I am currently working toward my certification as a Yoga Therapist and have experience helping people with neck and shoulder pain, repetitive movement injuries, migraines, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, hip and back pain, COPD, auto-immune disorders, cancer, past trauma, and more.

I am also a certified Reiki master, providing a gentle, yet powerful method of natural healing for body, mind, and spirit. I've worked with issues ranging from grief, stress, disease, pre- & post- op, past trauma, etc. Reiki and private yoga lessons are available.
